The first novel in James Patterson's Women's Murder Club series, published in 2001, follows San Francisco homicide inspector Lindsay Boxer as she hunts a killer who murders newlywed couples on their wedding nights. Boxer, who has just learned she has a serious illness, forms a group with medical examiner Claire Washburn, reporter Cindy Thomas and prosecutor Jill Bernhardt to share information and solve the case.
