Anastasia Krupnik is a 1979 children's novel by Lois Lowry, the two-time Newbery Medal winner, and the first book in her popular series about the funny, outspoken Anastasia. Ten-year-old Anastasia, who lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with her professor and poet father and artist mother, keeps a notebook of things she loves and hates. Over one eventful year she copes with the news of a new baby brother, her grandmother's failing memory, a crush, and her own changing feelings.

- John Green: “Those books meant so, so much to me when I was a kid--and still do. I felt like Anastasia knew the secrets about me that I couldn't tell anyone. Riotously funny, of course, but also so wise and caring.”
