And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street
By Dr. Seuss
Categories: Children's Books
Dr. Seuss's first children's book, published in 1937 after many publishers turned it down, follows Marco on his walk home from school. His father has told him to keep his eyes open but stop telling outlandish stories, and all Marco has seen is a horse and wagon on Mulberry Street. In his head the scene grows, rhyme by rhyme, into a parade with a brass band, an elephant, two giraffes and a police escort.

- Richard Branson: “I have been reading a lot of books by one of my favourite authors, Dr Seuss... There is more wisdom and humour in his cartoons and rhymes than in any number of lengthy and highbrow books.”
