At the Earth's Core
Categories: Science Fiction & Fantasy
David Innes and the inventor Abner Perry drill into the Earth in an iron mole at the start of At the Earth's Core (1922), the first Pellucidar novel. They break through into Pellucidar, a hollow world lit by a central sun that never sets. Prehistoric beasts and Stone Age people live there, ruled by the Mahars, a race of telepathic flying reptiles. Innes falls for Dian the Beautiful and plans a human revolt.
