Bewildered Travel: The Sacred Quest for Confusion is a 2007 book by Frederick J. Ruf, a religious studies professor at Georgetown University. It was published by the University of Virginia Press in its Studies in Religion and Culture series. Ruf asks why people travel when it means jet lag, strange food, foreign languages and dependence on strangers. He argues that this confusion is not a side effect but the very thing travelers seek, drawing on his own journeys and travel writing to explore its spiritual side.
