Cinema Speculation (2022) is Quentin Tarantino's book of essays on the American films of the late 1960s and 1970s that shaped him as a moviegoer and filmmaker. Tarantino writes about films such as Bullitt, Dirty Harry, Deliverance and Taxi Driver, mixing criticism, film history and memories of watching them as a boy in Los Angeles, often taken by his mother and stepfather. He also speculates about how some of them might have been made differently.
