Covenant & Conversation: Leviticus, the Book of Holiness

Covenant & Conversation: Leviticus, the Book of Holiness (2015) is the third of Rabbi Jonathan Sacks's five volumes of essays on the weekly Torah portion, drawn from the weekly Torah commentaries he wrote under the Covenant & Conversation name. Sacks finds in Leviticus, often seen as remote, an ethics of holiness: sacrifice and atonement, purity and the dietary laws, the command to love one's neighbour and the stranger, and the Sabbath and Jubilee years. He argues that these laws turn holiness into a way of life.
