Crossing to Safety (1987) is a novel by Wallace Stegner about the lifelong friendship between two couples. In 1937, Larry and Sally Morgan arrive in Madison, Wisconsin, where Larry has a teaching job at the university, and meet Sid and Charity Lang, a wealthier couple who welcome them.
