Dirty White Boys is a 1994 thriller by Stephen Hunter, a Pulitzer Prize-winning film critic and author of the Bob Lee Swagger novels. It is set in Oklahoma and Texas. Three convicts led by Lamar Pye break out of the state prison and rampage across the region in a spree of robbery and murder. State trooper Bud Pewtie, who is having an affair with his partner's wife, is drawn into the pursuit. The story alternates between hunter and hunted until their final confrontation.
