Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? (1968) is a novel by Philip K. Dick. Bounty hunter Rick Deckard tracks escaped androids in a post-apocalyptic San Francisco where real animals are status symbols and empathy is a test of humanity. The novel inspired the film Blade Runner and remains one of Dick's most widely read books, and one of his most often adapted.

- Neil deGrasse Tyson: “Otherwise, I'm a bit old-school. Sci-fi seems to make great short stories. Also, Philip K. Dick's Minority Report (1956) and Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep (1968), both of course becoming films, the second as Bladerunner (1982).”
