Eleven Minutes

By Paulo Coelho

Categories: Literature & Fiction

Maria grows up in a small town in northeastern Brazil and dreams of fame and fortune. A chance meeting in Rio de Janeiro takes her to Geneva, where she ends up working as a prostitute and keeps a diary of what she learns about men, money and herself. She comes to believe that love and sex are separate, until she meets a young painter who challenges that idea. Paulo Coelho's novel explores sexuality and the search for real intimacy.
