Family Values is a 1997 mystery by K.C. Constantine, the pseudonymous author of the long-running series about Mario Balzic, police chief of the fictional town of Rocksburg, Pennsylvania. The retired Balzic is asked to look into a double killing for which a man was convicted and served many years in prison. After his release the man still insists he is innocent, and new evidence suggests that some witnesses lied. The novel is told largely through Constantine's sharp, realistic dialogue.
