Fargo Rock City is Chuck Klosterman's 2001 debut, a memoir and celebration of 1980s heavy metal. Growing up in rural North Dakota, Klosterman devoted his adolescence to bands like Mötley Crüe, Poison and Guns N' Roses. He combines personal stories with humorous criticism to argue for the cultural importance of hair metal.
