Flash Boys: A Wall Street Revolt
Categories: Business & Money
Flash Boys (2014) is Michael Lewis's investigation of high-frequency trading in the U.S. stock market. Brad Katsuyama, a trader at the Royal Bank of Canada, finds faster traders picking off his orders by exploiting tiny delays between exchanges. With a small team he works out how the market came to favor speed, and they found IEX, a new exchange designed to blunt that advantage. Lewis also covers Sergey Aleynikov, a Goldman Sachs programmer prosecuted over code.
