Flower Block (2024) by Lanisha Butterfield, illustrated by Hoang Giang, is a picture book set in a city tower block. When Jeremiah plants a packet of sunflower seeds, vines and leaves shoot up overnight and burst through the ceiling of his apartment. He and his brother chase the plant up through the floors of their building, meeting curious neighbors along the way who join the adventure, until the whole block is changed by what grows.
