Forward: A Memoir

By Abby Wambach

Categories: Biographies & Memoirs, Sports & Outdoors

Abby Wambach was seven when she was placed on a boys' soccer team, and in 2013 she broke the record for international goals by any player, male or female. She helped the US women's team win the 2015 World Cup. Her memoir describes how that success masked a struggle to reconcile her roles as competitor, daughter, leader and wife, and a private battle with alcohol and prescription pills. She covers coming out, her advocacy for equal pay and her search for identity after soccer.
