Fun in a Chinese Laundry (1965) is the autobiography of film director Josef von Sternberg, who made The Blue Angel and seven films with Marlene Dietrich. Sternberg describes his poor childhood in Vienna and New York, his start in the film business and his rise as a director in Hollywood in the 1920s and 1930s. He writes with sharp opinions about actors, studios, critics and the art of film, and about his partnership with Dietrich.
