Gratitude
By Oliver Sacks
Categories: Biographies & Memoirs
Gratitude (Knopf, 2015) collects four short essays that neurologist Oliver Sacks wrote for The New York Times in the last two years of his life. "Mercury" reflects on turning eighty and finding old age an enlargement of mental life. "My Own Life" was written days after he learned that his cancer had spread to his liver. "My Periodic Table" turns to his love of science, the elements and the night sky, and "Sabbath" considers what makes a good and worthwhile life as he faces death.

- Tim Ferriss: “It is one of the books that has traveled with me, and it's face out so I see it every day when I'm sitting on my couch. Along with a handful of others; ... Gratitude, Oliver Sachs; I'm looking at them right now.”
