Greyboy: Finding Blackness in a White World
By Cole Brown
Categories: Biographies & Memoirs
Greyboy (2020) is Cole Brown's essay collection about growing up Black and affluent in Philadelphia's Chestnut Hill and other mostly white spaces, written after he graduated from Georgetown University. Through personal stories and interviews with peers, Brown describes being called 'not really Black' and feeling caught in between. He writes about parenting, police violence, depression, dating and the moment privileged Black Americans learn they are not immune from racism.
