Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is the sixth novel in J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series, published in 2005. It set sales records on release and was adapted into a 2009 film. In his sixth year at Hogwarts, Harry takes private lessons with Dumbledore, who uses memories to reveal Lord Voldemort's past and the secret of his survival. Meanwhile Harry finds an old potions textbook annotated by the mysterious Half-Blood Prince, and the book ends with a death that changes the war.
