Hitchcock is François Truffaut's book-length interview with Alfred Hitchcock, recorded over several days in 1962 and first published in 1966. Often called Hitchcock/Truffaut, it walks film by film through Hitchcock's career from his British silent films onward. Truffaut, then a young French director, presses Hitchcock on suspense, camera placement, editing and casting. Illustrated with frame sequences, the conversation became a standard text for filmmakers studying the craft of directing.
