How to Change Your Mind
Categories: Biographies & Memoirs, Religion & Spirituality
Michael Pollan set out to report on how LSD and psilocybin, the active ingredient in magic mushrooms, are being used to treat depression, addiction, and anxiety. He ended up writing his most personal book. Pollan digs into the latest brain science, the underground world of psychedelic therapists, and how a promising field of research was derailed in the 1960s. He also tries the substances himself. Part science, part memoir, part history, it's ultimately a book about consciousness and how to be fully present in our lives.
