I Am Legend

I Am Legend (1954) is a horror novel by Richard Matheson about the last man alive after a pandemic turns humanity into vampires. In Los Angeles, Robert Neville barricades himself in his house each night as the infected gather outside. By day he hunts them, gathers supplies and studies the disease in search of a cause and a cure, while struggling with loneliness, grief and the question of what it means to be human.
