I Can Read with My Eyes Shut!
By Dr. Seuss
Categories: Children's Books
Dr. Seuss's 1978 Beginner Book has the Cat in the Hat show Young Cat how much a reader can learn from books on almost any subject. In rhyming couplets the Cat admits that reading with eyes shut is hard and explains that the more one reads, the more one will know, and the more one learns, the more places one will go. Seuss dedicated the book to his ophthalmologist, David Worthen, as his own eyesight was failing.

- Richard Branson: “I have been reading a lot of books by one of my favourite authors, Dr Seuss... There is more wisdom and humour in his cartoons and rhymes than in any number of lengthy and highbrow books.”
