Ill Fares the Land
By Tony Judt
Categories: History
Ill Fares the Land is a 2010 book by historian Tony Judt, written while he was paralyzed by ALS and published shortly before his death. He argues that Western societies abandoned the social-democratic consensus of the postwar decades for a narrow faith in markets and private wealth, and calls for a renewed politics of the common good.
