In the Night Kitchen
Categories: Children's Books
Maurice Sendak's 1970 picture book follows a small boy named Mickey who, disturbed by a racket in the night, tumbles out of his bed and out of his pajamas into the night kitchen. There three bakers who look like Oliver Hardy mix him into the batter for the morning cake. Mickey escapes, shapes the dough into an airplane and flies up to the Milky Way, a giant milk bottle, to fetch the milk the bakers need.
