Islands in the Stream
Categories: Literature & Fiction
Published after Ernest Hemingway's death, this novel follows the painter Thomas Hudson through three periods of his life. In the first part he lives on the island of Bimini and is visited by his three sons. Later parts follow him to Cuba and to the waters off its coast during the Second World War. The novel explores family, loss, art and courage, and draws heavily on Hemingway's own life.

- Shane Parrish: “Like hiking off the beaten path, exploring Hemingway’s lesser known works can be pleasantly surprising. The first of Hemingway’s posthumously published novels (1970), Islands in the Stream was found by Hemingway’s widow after his death.”
