Last Stand: Ted Turner's Quest to Save a Troubled Planet

By Todd Wilkinson

Categories: Biographies & Memoirs, Politics & Social Sciences

Journalist Todd Wilkinson, who first wrote about Ted Turner in 1992 after the CNN founder bought a Montana ranch, examines Turner's work as a conservationist. Drawing on interviews with Turner, his family and associates, he traces how Turner came to own about two million acres and more than 50,000 bison. The book covers the Turner Endangered Species Fund, his $1 billion gift to support the United Nations, his campaign against nuclear weapons and his push for renewable energy, along with his troubled family history.
