Laughing Gas
Categories: Humor & Entertainment, Literature & Fiction
Hollywood is the backdrop of Laughing Gas (1936). Reggie Swithin, the newly made Earl of Havershot, goes to California to look after a cousin and is given gas at a dentist's office at the same moment as Joey Cooley, a spoiled child film star. The two swap bodies, and Reggie must live as a curly-haired child actor at the mercy of the studio, while Joey enjoys life in an adult body.

- Fareed Zakaria: “P. G. Wodehouse. I’ve read almost everything he wrote. He once explained that there were two ways of writing novels. “One is mine, making the thing a sort of musical comedy without music, ignoring real life altogether; the other is going right down deep into life and not caring a damn.” He did the former better than almost anyone.”
