Stephanie Plum's brief marriage to Dickie Orr ended when she caught him with her nemesis, Joyce Barnhardt. In the thirteenth Stephanie Plum novel, Ranger asks her to meet with Dickie and find out whether he is up to something shady. He is, and he is back with Joyce. The favor goes badly when Stephanie loses her temper and tries to injure Dickie in front of his whole office, leaving her with a serious problem when Dickie disappears. Janet Evanovich keeps the comedy and suspense running throughout.
