Leave Me Alone!: A Good Inside Story About Deeply Feeling Kids
Categories: Children's Books
In clinical psychologist Becky Kennedy's 2026 picture book, illustrated by Joanie Stone, Pia loves playing secret agents with her brother, Charlie. When she trips and seems to spoil the game, her feelings boil over, and she stomps, kicks and shrieks. Instead of a timeout, her mom carries her upstairs and stays calmly nearby until the storm passes, recognizing Pia as a deeply feeling kid. A closing section gives caregivers practical language for handling intense emotions. It is the second Good Inside story.
