Leni Riefenstahl: A Memoir
Categories: Biographies & Memoirs
Leni Riefenstahl: A Memoir is the autobiography of the German filmmaker and actress, first published in German in 1987 and later in English. Riefenstahl describes her career as a dancer and mountain-film actress, her films for the Nazi regime, including Triumph of the Will (1935) and Olympia (1938), her postwar trials and blacklisting, and her later work photographing the Nuba of Sudan. She denies knowledge of Nazi crimes, a claim historians have widely disputed.

- Quentin Tarantino: “Mesmerizing. Though you can’t believe half of it. That still leaves half to ponder. Her descriptions of normal friendly conversations with Hitler are amazing and ring of truth.”
