Lord Emsworth and Others (1937) opens with "The Crime Wave at Blandings," in which Lord Emsworth and much of his household take up an air gun, with alarming results for the castle's staff and guests. The rest of the collection ranges across Wodehouse's other regulars, with stories about the schemer Ukridge, golf stories from the Oldest Member and tales swapped at the Drones Club.

- Fareed Zakaria: “P. G. Wodehouse. I’ve read almost everything he wrote. He once explained that there were two ways of writing novels. “One is mine, making the thing a sort of musical comedy without music, ignoring real life altogether; the other is going right down deep into life and not caring a damn.” He did the former better than almost anyone.”
