Categories: Biographies & Memoirs, Politics & Social Sciences
Lovely One (2024) is the memoir of Ketanji Brown Jackson, who in 2022 became the first Black woman to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court. She describes growing up in Miami as the daughter of public school teachers. Jackson follows her path through Harvard and Harvard Law School, clerkships, work as a federal public defender and service as a district and appeals court judge, and reflects on balancing career and family before her confirmation hearings.
