Martin Luther (2004) is a short biography of the Protestant reformer by religious historian Martin E. Marty. It follows Luther from his years as an Augustinian monk troubled by doubts about salvation, through the posting of his Ninety-Five Theses in 1517, his break with the pope and his defiance at the Diet of Worms, to his translation of the Bible and his final years in Wittenberg. Marty focuses on Luther's spiritual struggles and ideas while also facing his harsher sides.
