Nothing Serious (1950) gathers ten Wodehouse short stories. Several are swapped among the Eggs and Beans of the Drones, featuring Bingo Little and his wife, the romance writer Rosie M. Banks, and the luckless Freddie Widgeon. Others are golf stories recounted by the Oldest Member, and one, Birth of a Salesman, sends Lord Emsworth to America. The collection also includes The Shadow Passes and Bramley Is So Bracing.

- Fareed Zakaria: “P. G. Wodehouse. I’ve read almost everything he wrote. He once explained that there were two ways of writing novels. “One is mine, making the thing a sort of musical comedy without music, ignoring real life altogether; the other is going right down deep into life and not caring a damn.” He did the former better than almost anyone.”
