One Piece, Vol. 1: Romance Dawn

Monkey D. Luffy, a boy whose body stretches like rubber after he eats a Devil Fruit, sets out to sea in the opening volume of Eiichiro Oda's pirate manga, determined to find the treasure called One Piece and become King of the Pirates. Inspired by the pirate Red-Haired Shanks, whose straw hat he wears, Luffy rescues the timid Koby, recruits the swordsman Roronoa Zoro and clashes with the corrupt navy captain Morgan. The series began in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1997.
