Our Posthuman Future: Consequences of the Biotechnology Revolution
Categories: Politics & Social Sciences, Science & Math
Our Posthuman Future (2002) is Francis Fukuyama's argument about the political dangers of biotechnology. He looks at genetic engineering, neuropharmacology and life extension, and asks how they could change human nature and the basis of human rights. He argues that democracies should regulate these technologies rather than leave them to the market or to scientists, and he proposes new national and international institutions to do it.
