Categories: Humor & Entertainment, Literature & Fiction
Jimmy Crocker, a wild young American living in London, has been nicknamed Piccadilly Jim by the newspapers that report his scrapes. In P. G. Wodehouse's 1917 novel, he falls for Ann Chester, who despises Piccadilly Jim without knowing who he is. To win her, Jimmy sails to New York and poses as someone else pretending to be himself, while his family on both sides of the Atlantic schemes to make him respectable.

- Fareed Zakaria: “P. G. Wodehouse. I’ve read almost everything he wrote. He once explained that there were two ways of writing novels. “One is mine, making the thing a sort of musical comedy without music, ignoring real life altogether; the other is going right down deep into life and not caring a damn.” He did the former better than almost anyone.”
