Plum Pie (1966) mixes nine short stories with brief humorous pieces on American life that Wodehouse placed between them. Its Bertie Wooster story is Jeeves and the Greasy Bird. The other stories bring back Ukridge, Lord Emsworth at Blandings, Bingo Little and other Drones, and the golfers whose misadventures the Oldest Member narrates, so the book samples most of the series he kept going into his eighties.

- Fareed Zakaria: “P. G. Wodehouse. I’ve read almost everything he wrote. He once explained that there were two ways of writing novels. “One is mine, making the thing a sort of musical comedy without music, ignoring real life altogether; the other is going right down deep into life and not caring a damn.” He did the former better than almost anyone.”
