Predictably Irrational, Revised and Expanded Edition
By Dan Ariely
Categories: Business & Money
Behavioral economist Dan Ariely's 2008 book, here in a revised and expanded edition, challenges the assumption that people make decisions in fundamentally rational ways. Through experiments, Ariely asks why a fifty-cent aspirin seems to work better than a one-cent one and why we splurge on a meal but clip coupons for soup. He shows that our mistakes, from buying a car to choosing a partner, are neither random nor senseless but systematic, and so predictable.
