Revolting Rhymes

By Roald Dahl

Categories: Children's Books

Roald Dahl's 1982 collection, with Quentin Blake's drawings, retells six familiar fairy tales in comic verse: Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf, and The Three Little Pigs. Dahl twists each story away from its usual ending, with rude jokes, unexpected heroes and villains, gruesome surprises and a heroine who is far more resourceful than the fairy tales allow.
