Rokudenashi Blues, Vol. 1
Categories: Comics & Graphic Novels
Taison Maeda, a brawling first-year at Teiken High School in Tokyo's Kichijoji district, dreams of becoming a world boxing champion. The first volume of Masanori Morita's manga, issued in 1989, introduces him, his friends and the delinquents he clashes with. Morita's series, a prominent example of the yankii genre about high school toughs, ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1988 to 1997 and filled forty-two volumes, mixing street fights with comedy, friendship and school life.
