Saturday is a 2005 novel by Ian McEwan, the Booker Prize-winning author of Amsterdam and Atonement. It won the James Tait Black Memorial Prize for fiction. The novel follows London neurosurgeon Henry Perowne over a single day, February 15, 2003, as huge crowds march against the coming Iraq war. A minor car accident leads to a confrontation with a volatile man named Baxter, whose return that evening threatens Perowne's family at home. The book weighs science, art, and politics.

- Stephen King: “This novel spans one day in the life of London neurosurgeon Henry Perowne, beginning with a plane on fire and ending with a terrifying dinner party at which he and his family are held hostage by home invaders. What Saturday makes us feel is all the jitter-jive paranoia of our post-9/11 world.”
