Categories: Biographies & Memoirs

Saving Five (2025) is the memoir of civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen, who was raped as a student at Harvard in 2013 and then had to fight to keep her rape kit from being destroyed. Nguyen recounts the campaign that led Congress to pass the Sexual Assault Survivors' Rights Act unanimously in 2016. Alongside it, versions of herself at different ages travel through the stages of grief, revisiting her childhood with an abusive father, until she reaches her goal of flying to space.
