The fourth Hitchhiker's book brings Arthur Dent home to an Earth that should have been destroyed, where nobody seems to remember the Vogons and every dolphin has mysteriously disappeared. In England Arthur meets Fenchurch, a woman who, just before Earth was demolished, suddenly understood how the world could be made a good and happy place. As they fall in love, the two try to discover why the planet is back and where the dolphins went.
