After attending a gathering of technology startups in Dubai in 2010, American entrepreneur and investor Christopher M. Schroeder spent the next few years traveling the Middle East to meet the founders, investors and mentors building new companies there. Drawing on interviews in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, he argues that mobile technology, young populations and changing attitudes to risk are driving an entrepreneurial revolution in the region.
