Stories of Your Life and Others
By Ted Chiang
Categories: Literature & Fiction
Ted Chiang's first collection, published in 2002, gathers eight science fiction stories that treat strange premises with a scientist's care, from a tower built to reach the vault of heaven to a man whose intelligence is suddenly enhanced. In the title story, a linguist tries to decipher the language of aliens who have arrived on Earth; it became the basis for the 2016 film Arrival. Another imagines a world where visitations by angels are a fact of daily life.
