Sun Under Wood

By Robert Hass

Categories: Literature & Fiction

Sun Under Wood (1996) is a collection of poems by American poet Robert Hass. The poems move between landscape, memory and reflection, drawing on the natural world of Northern California, family history, including his mother's alcoholism, and the end of a marriage. The book mixes long meditative pieces with prose poems and shorter lyrics, and the poems consider how language captures experience and what it leaves out.
