The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins
By Dr. Seuss
Categories: Children's Books
Dr. Seuss's second children's book, a 1938 story told in prose instead of rhyme, unfolds in the Kingdom of Didd. When King Derwin rides past, young Bartholomew Cubbins removes his hat as the law requires, only to find another hat on his head. Every hat he takes off is replaced by one more, each fancier than the last, and the furious king summons his wise men, magicians and executioner to solve a problem nobody can explain.

- Richard Branson: “I have been reading a lot of books by one of my favourite authors, Dr Seuss... There is more wisdom and humour in his cartoons and rhymes than in any number of lengthy and highbrow books.”
